Cycling Merit Badge Ride Dates

Troop 287 Cyclists,

Please mark the following dates to complete the Cycling Merit Badge rides. The only days I could constantly fit into my calendar for these rides are Sundays. With the exception of the 50 miler, they are all in the afternoon so Scouts can practice their religious beliefs on Sunday Mornings. Additionally, I fully support another parents/leaders that can lead rides on additional days if someone can fit it into their schedule. The goal is not to have this merit badge hanging over our heads for a year!

All bikers must be prepared by bringing two water bottles or Camel Back, a flat tire kit, heathy snacks, and be prepared for the weather. A few buck on the longer ride would be practical to buy water or more snacks along the route. Dates could change pending weather. Make sure bikes are “Ride Ready” by ensuring the chain is lubed, seat post adjusted to the right hight, and tires are inflated to the proper marked amount. Parents should be available by cell phone to pick up their scout should their be a mechanical failure that cannot be fixed during the ride… unless someone volunteers to run a SAG vehicle. Exact routes will be shared prior to the ride.
